Monday Munchies: Eating While Traveling

The past 6 days we have been in California masterminding with over 5o of the best fitness professionals in the world which has been fantastic and we can’t wait to share what we’ve learned with you!

However, being gone for this long put a huge curveball in my regular eating routine – what I eat and when I eat. Yesterday as we were finishing up day 2 of an excellent fat-loss seminar the speaker said the best thing (and it was something one of his clients had told him!):

Know where you are going to be and know when you are going to be hungry.

This simple quote says it all. Be prepared! Don’t leave your meals to chance. Most of us know when we need to eat something so be prepared! I’m not saying you need to carry a cooler around with you but throw a bag of nuts and cheese into your bag or celery and peanut butter or even some beef jerkey or a scoop of protein for those days you know you’ll be hungry but it won’t be lunch time yet or there are not many places to choose from.

Many of The Body You Want Fitness Solutions‘ members travel a ton for business and pleasure and having the right snack in your bag can really save you from eating the bagels or pasta salad that gets placed in front of you. I know it helped me this week!

Here are a few snack ideas:

  • Natural/ Organic Peanut Butter & Celery
  • Cream Cheese or Almond Butter and Celery
  • Laughing Cow Cheese with Baby Tomatoes or Celery
  • Chipotle Cheddar Sausage (pre-cooked) & Melted Cheese (you can find other flavor combos at Whole Foods, but be sure to look at the Carb/Sugar count on the nutrition labels)
  • Cucumbers and/or Peppers with Babaganoush or Taziki Dip
  • Nuts – try new flavors just make sure to check for added sugars
